Experience
Ark Robotics, Inc.
2023/07/15 - present
Founder
I re-founded Ark Robotics, Inc. to make teaching robots simple using generative AI. We are focused on solving high-mix manufacturing and assembly. Our AI learns from human demonstrations making it able to achieve complex manipulation tasks without any programming. I built out our simulation, data pipeline, and core end-to-end trained robotic Visuomotor policy. The core system is built out in Python, Pytorch, and Isaac-sim.
TripSuite
2022/09/01 - 2023/06/15
Founding Full Stack Software Engineer
I joined the TripSuite founding team as a full-stack software engineer to work on their MVP web app. Within 5 months of joining, we successfully built the MVP and onboarded our first customers. Unfortunately, due to TripSuite's incubation by Fractal and subsequent reports of VCs blacklisting Fractal-incubated companies, I was let go. You can read the article here: https://www.businessinsider.com/fractal-vertical-software-startup-venture-studio-ownership-founder-equity-grant-2023-6. Although short-tenured, I helped build lay a solid foundation for the company's future success.
Transistor Bio
01/27/2022-09/01/2022
Senior Full Stack SWE
I joined Transistor Bio as a full-stack software engineer, to take charge of building out the full-stack software solution for digital phenotyping powered by machine learning. The product was built in Python, using Svelte, a front-end client library similar to React. I collaborated closely with the CEO to identify and develop essential features for our early users.
Stealth Robotics Drone Company
2021/03/01 - 2022/01/03
Founder
In early 2021 I founded a robotics company with the vision to free the mind from menial labor by building financially feasible robots that just work. I started with market research to find the best market and problem to build a solution for to support the expenses of building complex robotics hardware. I chose the 20 billion arborist industry due to the dangers to tree service workers, relatively high pay, and similar neighboring industries to branch out to. Self-funded the whole way through I built a drone capable of lifting 40lbs with an onboard computer and a manipulator with the goal of trimming trees while being controlled by someone on the ground. The control problem of cutting a tree with a drone turned out to be far too complex to solve under the limited time and resources, the company was shut down. But I learned a lot about what goes into the harder parts of engineering when solving problems with no obvious solution. The whole project was a complex system of interlocking modules from the remote controller using a React based UI to the low-level C++ code managing the inherent complexities of a dynamic real-time system.
J.B. Hunt Transportation Services, Inc
09/01/2020 - 03/01/2021
Software Engineer 2
I joined the JB-Hunt Carrier 360 team to build the Uber for freight. The app was built with Typescript and React Native. I quickly integrated into the team and became productive within the first month. My day-to-day job was working in a team environment turning Figma mockups into React Native pages.
ICatch
05/02/2019 - 10/01/2020
Full Stack Mobile Engineer
I architected and built the Hook'd fishing competition app from the ground up in NodeJS, GraphQL/Relay, and React Native. The platform was a unified codebase that ran on Ios, Android, and as a web app. I was in charge of everything from talking to customers and converting the founder's vision into a clean usable product with over 30K users.
ServiceTarget
04/01/2017 - 05/01/2019
Junior Full Stack Engineer
I joined as the first full-time engineer and helped bootstrap the company from 60K to over half a million ARR by the time I left. I was involved from start to finish in designing and building the whole system in Java, with an AngularJS/Typescript front end. I learned how to work in a team turning ideas into solutions from architecting to building the system in a tight team with fast release cycles to provide value to millions of daily users.

Projects
Bolt Pay
A dead simple point of sales system embeddable on any website similar to stripe. It used the bitcoin lightning network for instant transactions and had a management portal for users to create new embeddable widgets for their products and manage their bitcoin. It was just a project to play around with the lightning network so it was never released to the public for use.
Hermes
I built a fully 3D printed heavy lift drone with a web-based UI controller to stream video back to the user over tcp/ip. With 16-inch propellers, it was quite scary flying such a big machine but a great learning experience building a complex system.
